If only you could see the real gold metallic in this Lamé! It is very gold and really shiny—shiny gold. It’s beautiful, but unfortunately the photographs simply don’t capture the brilliance and metallic shine of this fabric in person.

We often think of Lamé as a special occasion fabric, something made into a garment that may not be worn very often. But I keep imagining a gold and black Lamé dress—knee length, with lots of volume—worn during the day, any day of the week. Why not?

This lightweight Lamé is opaque with a fluid drape and no stretch. The hand is a little scratchy, so for a close-fitting bodice or a garment worn directly against the skin, I would consider a lining. And somehow, that would make it feel even more luxurious.

At an extra-wide 63 inches with 4 yards available, there is plenty here to inspire something wonderful.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Virginia had real good taste.
