Sometimes you buy the fabric first and figure out the project later.

This buttery yellow beauty was one of those purchases for me.

I found it in the New York City Fabric District several years ago on a trip where I actually brought an extra carry-on specifically for the fabric I knew I'd be bringing home. 😜 I remember the shop and the gentlemen who worked there, but unfortunately I no longer remember its name. Like several wonderful fabric stores in the district, it has since closed.

And just LOOK at this fabric.

A buttery yellow background is covered with beautiful textural stitching and accented with blue and gold embroidered florals. Bands of floral cutwork create open areas throughout the design, and tiny jewel-like embellishments add just a touch of sparkle. The scalloped floral detailing gives you even more possibilities for creative placement.

I didn't have a project in mind when I bought it.

I just knew I had to have it.
